Novero’s Runaways are possibly the world’s smallest stereo Bluetooth headset

Stereo Bluetooth headsets are wonderful.  They allow you to listen to music without being tethered to your media player – a big advantage over your typical wired set of ‘buds.  But many Bluetooth headsets are bulky, making them visually unappealing and difficult to wear for long periods of time.

That’s why we’re excited by Novero’s Runaway Bluetooth headset.  The Runaways weigh only about 10 grams, and consist of two small ear buds connected with a durable plastic wire.  The headset is held in place by the earbuds, while the connecting wire is draped below the back of the user’s head.  A small remote control is placed on the connecting wire, allowing users to control music or answer calls.

Despite their small size, the Runaways offer 5.5 hours of battery life.  They headsets recharge easily via USB, which connects to the back of the right earbud via a proprietary connector.

These seem great for active folks who loathe traditional, bulky stereo Bluetooth headsets.  The Runaways seem perfect for the gym, for example.

No word on pricing or availability, but the Runaways won FCC approval today, so we should be seeing them soon.
