Eliminate AT&T deadzones with Terrestar’s Genus satellite/GSM phone
Sure, AT&T’s mobile coverage may be packed with dead zones, but things look better when you supplement AT&T’s network with Terrestar’s satellite network.
The Genus satellite phone does exactly that. This Windows Mobile 6.5 device combines a quad band GSM phone with a satellite phone, all in a compact Motorola Q-ish package. The Genus has a 2.6 touchscreen, 3 MP camera, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and microSD expansion as well.
There’s no word in pricing, but generally satellite phones don’t come cheap…both the phone and satellite voice calls will likely be pricey. The Genus is expected to be released in Q1 2010, so there should be more info on the device coming out soon.
