This external hard drive from Chinese manufacturer Matsunichi keeps a handle on your data with RFID.  From what I can discern from the device’s user manual, the RM186 will not allow users to access the drive unless an RFID key is present.  That means the data on the drive stays fully encrypted unless it’s within a few feet of the RFID key.

It’s a pretty innovative solution that should give users additional peace of mind.  Although the device does leave you in a bit of a pickle if you misplace the RFID key.
