Amped Wireless’ 600mW WiFi routers hit the FCC, boast 10,000 square feet of coverage
Have a few WiFi dead spots in your house? Take a look at Amped Wireless’ R10000 and R10000G WiFi routers which passed through the FCC today. Both devices feature 600mW of output power, or about 12 times more power than your standard 50mW router. Thanks to its impressive power output, Amped is able to offer up to 10,000 square feet of coverage with Wireless-N – that’s more than enough for most homes, as well as some smaller businesses. Under the hood, Amped’s routers feature a Ralink WiFi transceiver and Winbond memory, below.
The R10000 and R10000G cost $130 and $150, respectively. The R10000G features 4 Gigabit LAN ports while the R10000 offers 4 10/100 LAN ports. Both devices will launch this month.
