Jawbone’s Big Jambox gets an FCC teardown
Jawbone’s Jambox products offer big sound in a compact, portable package. The company’s Big Jambox is the second addition to the Jambox line, offering more power, longer battery life in a slightly bigger package.
Thanks to the FCC we now get a look inside the Big Jambox. Beneath the device’s mesh exterior is a Bluetooth processor from CSR and a 2500mAh battery. Interestingly, some of the Big Jambox’s components refer to the device as the Jamberry, a possible code name or alternative name for the Big Jambox. Check out the full teardown gallery below.
JAWBONE to release larger version of its JAMBOX portable Bluetooth speaker
It looks like JAWBONE’s JAMBOX portable Bluetooth speaker is about to get a big brother. According to an FCC filing today, JAWBONE will soon release a product called BIG JAMBOX. FCC documents reveal little about the device, other than its use of Bluetooth. However, it’s reasonable to assume, given the product’s name, that this will be a larger version of JAWBONE’s current JAMBOX product, which measures 151mm x 57mm x 40mm and weighs just 347 grams (12oz).
Jawbone UP refund checks now in the mail
Earlier this month, Jawbone announced an unprecedented no-questions-asked refund policy for unhappy owners of UP fitness bands. Instead of requiring users to mail in receipts, cut out barcodes, or jump through other hoops to get their refund check, Jawbone set up a simple two step process online to request a refund. The company didn’t even ask customers to send back defective UP units.
Sounds too good to be true? Nope. Earlier today the company let its customers know that UP refunds were in the mail. Jawbone originally estimated that refunds will take 4 to 6 weeks, but it appears that the company got its refunds taken care of in about two weeks.
Jawbone deserves a ton of credit for quickly addressing issues with the UP band and resolving customer complains in a manner that was quick and painless for customers.

We’ll provide updates as we learn more.
