i.Tech’s MusicClip 803 is an A2DP Bluetooth headset and MP3 player in one

This tiny MP3 player/Bluetooth headset from i.Tech, called the MusicClip 803, made an appearance on the FCC today.  The device seems like a slight upgrade from the MusicClip 802 that we spotted in October.

As a Bluetooth headset, the MusicClip 803 offers handy features, like support for any 3.5mm headset, an OLED display for viewing caller data, and a full host of call/music controls.  Additionally, the MusicClip 803 has 2GB of internal storage, allowing the device to act as an MP3 player.  An FM player is included as well.

The MusicClip 803 charges via its headphone jack, just like an iPod Shuffle.  The device provides 6 hours of talk time, 10 hours of music playing time, and 120 hours of standby.

All things considered, i.Tech packed a ton of features into this 16 gram device.  No word yet on pricing or availability, but i.Tech has a decent presence in the states so we should be seeing this soon.

Boom Bluetooth Multipoint Headset from Impextronic is enormous

image

Sure, most Bluetooth headsets nowadays are tiny devices that barely extend from your ear.  But what if you want a more traditional headset – you know, one of those call center headsets with a mic that sits comfortably in front of your mouth?

Impextronic has an answer for you with their BT-383 Bluepoint MultiPoint Headset.  The device isn’t small – it has an old school over-the-head design with a long boom mic.  But the large size of this headset means more battery power – the device provides 20 hours of talk time and over 24 days of standby time.

Impextronic is most likely going to rebrand the BT-383 before it reaches the States, so there’s no indication yet of who will actually be selling this headset, when it will be released or at what price point.

MobiSolution GBH-S300 – Bluetooth headset and MP3 player in a tiny package

image image

The MobiSolution GPH-S300 weighs only 11.5 grams, but it packs a ton of well-designed features.  The device works with any 3.5mm headset, allowing you to use your own headphones for making calls or listening to music.  And, if you don’t want to lug around a separate audio player, the GPH-S300 act as a music player with microSD storage.

Interestingly, the GPH-S300 charges through its 3.5mm jack – a great feature that helps to keep the device tiny…just don’t hope to use the headset and charge it at the same time.  To that end, the device offers 6 hours of talk time and 8 days of standby.

MobiSolution is at CES this weekend, so be sure to check them out of you’re in town.

Auto Bluetooth speaker with detachable headset seems like a good idea

image

This innovative auto Bluetooth speaker system from Shenzhen Yukai Digital Technology Co., Ltd. passed through the FCC today.  On the surface, this device looks like your typical auto Bluetooth speaker adapter.  But, as you’ll notice in the image above, the right side of the device sports a detachable Bluetooth headset that allows you to enter and exit your car without ending your call.

It’s actually not a bad idea, especially if your phone doesn’t handle the switching of Bluetooth devices well.

No word on pricing of availability, but most likely this device, which currently is known as the YK-168D, will be rebranded if and when it comes to the States.

Vertu’s V Collection – Shiny, pricey wireless goodness

 image image   image

Vertu is a manufacture of luxury phones that cost thousands and come with their own personal concierge service.  Recently, the company added to their luxury phone selection with a collection of phone accessories called the V Collection.

These slick black and silver accessories include a Bluetooth headset, memory card reader, and pen.  The Bluetooth headset is the most impressive of the collection, the headset folds into a thing black case that’s just slightly larger than the pen.  The headset’s earpiece folds up when stored in the case, and folds down when in use.

There’s no word on pricing for the V Collection, but the set will be available exclusively in Vertu’s retail stores.

Planex Communications’ BT-MiniHS2 headset is tiny

image image

If you don’t want to be one of those guys who walk around with a Bluetooth headset in their ear all day, check out Planex Communications’’ BT-MiniHS2.  This tiny headset barely protrudes from your ear, a big improvement over most headsets that extend a few inches down your cheek.

Sure, you have to wonder how well the mic works on this thing.  But overall, I like the compact design of this device, not to mention the use of miniUSB for charging.
