Convertible tablets from Toshiba hit the FCC
Toshiba has already announced that they won’t be developing a Windows 8 RT tablet anytime soon, but it looks like the company still has plans for some sort of Windows tablet. Today, a device that Toshiba describes as a “Notebook PC and Tablet” appeared on the FCC with a variety of model names, including the Satellite U820, U825, U920t, U925t, and dynabook R822.
Toshiba uses Satellite and dynabook brands for its Windows computers, so it stands to reason that these PCs will be some sort of Windows tablet. Since Toshiba is not making any Windows 8 RT tablets, it looks like the U820 and brethren will be x86 Windows 8 PCs. Label location pic of the U820 et al show what appears to be a tablet with a detachable base, below.
