ViewSonic’s ViewPhone 3 hits the FCC
Earlier this week, ViewSonic announced plans to release a mobile phone called the ViewPhone 3, and on Wednesday the device made its first appearance on the FCC. The ViewPhone 3 is ViewSonic’s first mobile phone, and appears to be targeted at the lower-end of the smartphone market.
The ViewPhone 3 will feature a 3.5-inch screen, 800MHz Qualcomm processor, 512MB of RAM and Android 2.3. The device will be released in Latin America initially, although the device is expected to eventually come to the US unlocked. The version of the ViewPhone 3 that hit the FCC won approval for GSM 850 and 1900 bands, but only WCDMA band V.
No word on pricing or a release date, but judging from the ViewPhone 3’s specs, the device should be less than $100 on contract.
