Sirius XM’s Android-powered Lynx satellite radio gets an FCC teardown
Hey now! It looks like Sirius XM’s Android-powered Lynx satellite radio just hit the FCC sans casing. What you see above is the Lynx’ main board, giving us a good look at the device’s STMicro processor, Samsung SDRAM and Flash memory, and microSD card slot. It also looks like the Lynx’ interface will use Immersion technology, possibly providing haptic feedback to touch inputs.
The Lynx first leaked back in October, and currently Crutchfield is taking preorders for the $250 device. No word yet on a release date, but it seems like Sirius XM now has its regulatory filings in order, so we’d expect to see the device in stores soon.
