Viewsonic’s ViewPad 10pro Windows / Android tablet hits the FCC, gets torn down

Android tablets are great, but what happens when you need the full power of Windows?  Enter Viewsonic’s ViewPad 10pro.  This 10-inch tablet allows users to switch between Windows 7 and Android, perhaps providing users with the best of both worlds.

The ViewPad 10pro won FCC approval today for its Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities.  FCC filings also include internal photos of the device, showing some low resolution shots of the ViewPad 10pro’s Intel Oak Trail 1.5GHz processor.

We’re not sure who’s looking for a Windows 7 tablet right now with Windows 8 expected to launch in 2012.  And although the ViewPad 10pro’s ability to run both Windows and Android is a cool feature, the device really just runs Android in a Windows-based virtualization app, so you don’t get the full benefits of a tablet OS.

No word on pricing or a release date yet.
