Acer to release 64GB version of the A501 Iconia Tab for AT&T

Last month we spotted Acer’s A501 Iconia Tab, the 3G version of Acer’s A500 Android 3.0 tablet, on the FCC.  Today in an FCC Permissive Change notice, Acer announced that it will be releasing a 64GB version of the A501 – doubling the storage that is currently available for Acer’s Iconia Tab.

Other changes with the A501 include a Liteon image sensor, a new touchscreen, and Hynix DDR2 memory.  As far as we can tell, no changes have been made to the A501’s GSM support, suggesting that the 64GB A501 tablet will likely be released for AT&T in the United States.

AT&T has announced plans to introduce the A501 later this summer.  No word yet on pricing.
