Nokia’s X7 Symbian smartphone gets torn down by the FCC
The X7 is Nokia’s latest Symbian smartphone that will certainly turn heads. The X7’s slanted sides and brushed aluminum back give the device a futuristic, industrial look that will certainly produce a “love or hate” reaction with many users. The X7 features a 4-inch 360 x 640 display, 680MHz ARM 11 processor, 256MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, 8GB of internal storage with microSD storage supported as well, an 8MP camera with dual LED flash, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. The X7 runs Nokia’s Symbian Anna OS.
Recently, FCC photos of the X7 were released, giving us a good look inside the device. FCC documents provide a good look at the device’s Samsung SDRAM, Broadcom transceiver, Gorilla Glass display and 8MP image sensor. We also get a look at the X7’s unique back cover, which features a honeycomb pattern, presumably for added strength.
Nokia formally unveiled the X7 in April, and the device is expected to ship in Q2 2011 for €380. Unfortunately, there is little chance that a US carrier will pick up the X7, although you will likely be able to import the device from Europe once it is released.
