HTC unveiled its entry-level Wildfire S Android smartphone at Mobile World Congress this year, and today the device made an appearance on the FCC.  Described in FCC filings as the PG76110, the Wildfire S won FCC approval for GSM 850 and 1900 bands, as well as WCDMA bands II and V.  These bands correspond to AT&T’s service in the US, a good sign that the Wildfire S will be making an appearance on AT&T soon.

The Wildfire S offers a basic feature set that includes a 3.2-inch screen, 600MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, a 5MP rear facing camera, WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0.  The device will run Android 2.3, making it one of the few Gingerbread devices currently available.

No word on pricing, but the device is expected to be released in Q2 2011.
