Cisco REN/TES/TEI301 Managed Services Residential Gateways feature LCD screen, capacitive buttons, 32GB storage

Tired of monitoring those red and green blinking lights on your wireless router?  Take a look at Cisco’s REN301 Residential Gateway, which passed through the FCC today.  This single-band 802.11 b/g/n WiFi router features a color LCD screen with capacitive, touch-sensitive buttons that provide a host of setup and management functions without the need of a PC, shown below.

In addition to WiFi capabilities, the Managed Services Residential Gateway also supports SIP VoIP telephony, DLNA, media streaming, and can function as a NAS device.  The router also comes with a preinstalled 32GB SD card that can be used to store media on the device itself.

Cisco will offer 9 versions of the Managed Services Residential Gateway:  the REN301/W/Z, TES301/W/Z and TEI301/W/Z.  W and Z versions of the device support Z-Ware and ZigBee home automation solutions, respectively.
