Samsung’s SGH-I708 world phone hits the FCC, supports AT&T and Verizon networks
It looks like Samsung may be bringing a new world phone to the United States. Today, the company passed a device called the SGH-i708 through the FCC. The device offers support for both CDMA and GSM networks, including 3G WCDMA and EVDO networks used by Verizon and AT&T. FCC filings for the SGH-I708 focus on 850 and 1900 bands, but the device likely supports other GSM bands as well. That means the SGH-I708 will be able to operate on networks throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas, in addition to Verizon and AT&T networks.
