Verizon delays HTC ThunderBolt, according to rumors, with no ETA in sight
The HTC ThunderBolt rumor mill is starting to get a bit ridiculous. We’ve seen several supposed “internal” screenshots that show either February 14th or 24th as the launch date of the ThunderBolt. Now, another screenshot of an internal Verizon document uncovered by Droid-Life shows that the HTC ThunderBolt launch, originally planned for February 14th, has been delayed with no ETA in sight. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the 4G Mobile Hotspot feature has been delayed from February 17th, as well.
Hopefully, the ThunderBolt’s delay won’t be long. Perhaps Verizon woke up and realized that launching a device on Valentine’s Day isn’t a great idea. Interestingly, Phandroid just posted a photo of a ThunderBolt dummy arriving in a Verizon store (below), as the Verizon screenshot indicates. The date on the ThunderBolt dummy reads February 14th.
So ThunderBolt dummies are arriving in stores, and the device has already made its way through the FCC. What’s the holdup, Verizon?
