LG Optimus 3D confirmed, takes 3D video, plays glasses-free 3D

This morning images of a supposed 3D phone from LG hit the Internets, above, and by this evening the device was confirmed with an official press release from LG.  The device, known as the Optiums 3D, is billed as the world’s first 3D smartphone.  It features a dual-lens camera for recording 3D, as well as a glasses-free LCD panel for viewing 3D content.  The device also has HDMI out and DLNA support.

No word on pricing or a release date, but LG will unveil more at Mobile World Congress on February 14th.
