Android-powered color eBook reader from Pandigital surfaces on the FCC


Just a few hours ago, Pandigital passed a 6” eInk eBook reader through the FCCThe company soon followed up with its Novel PRD09TW color eBook reader, above.

Those of you considering a purchase of the Barnes and Noble Nook Color should take a close look at the Novel.  Like the Nook, the Novel runs Android on what appears to be a 7” color LCD screen.  The Novel also has access to Barnes and Noble’s eBook store, along with a host of other Android apps including a music player, video player, email client and web browser.

Unfortunately, FCC filings do not tell us much about the Novel’s specs.  Test reports do confirm that the device will have WiFi however.

Interestingly, the Pandigital Novel appears on the FCC thanks to a filing by Inventec – the same company that DigiTimes is claiming will manufacture a Google Chrome netbook.  Check out more images from Inventec’s FCC filings below:
