Hawking Technology’s RMTP mouse combines touchpad and a keyboard
Hawking Technology is known mostly for their networking gear, but the company’s RMTP mouse, which passed through the FCC today, has us intrigued. Although Hawking refers to the device as a mouse, it’s really a combination of a touchpad and a mini keyboard that connects to your PC via a 2.4GHz wireless dongle.
To use the device as a touchpad, just push the “O” button near the top right of the device. In this mode, the RMTP’s individual keys don’t work, instead the entire surface of the device works as a trackpad that recognizes 1 or 2 finger gestures.
To use the device as a keyboard, just press the home button. The device has a QWERTY keypad along with number keys and most common symbols and punctuations. The keypad is also backlight, so you can use it in dark environments.
The RMTP measures only 3.7” x 2.1” (95mm x 54mm) so it fits in the palm of your hand and can be easily stowed away in a bag.
