The Sharper Image’s Literati color eBook Reader hits the FCC

Earlier this month, Kobo announced that it would be expanding its service to a new device called the Literati.  Today, the Literati made an appearance on the FCC, complete with external/internal pics and a user manual.

The Literati relies on Kobo’s eBook reader OS.  The device can also purchase books from the Kobo eBook store via WiFi, however the Literati does not have a 3G modem.

But what’s most impressive about the Literati is the device’s 7” color LCD screen.  Screen shots from the device’s user manual look impressive, below, although the rich color display does make us a bit worried about battery life.

The Literati reader will be released in October for $159.  The device will be distributed by The Sharper Image, and can be found at a variety of retailers across the US.
