Sirius XM’s XM Snap satellite radio wins FCC approval

Sirius XM filed for a US trademark for “XM Snap” back in July 2010, and today the XM Snap made an appearance on the FCC.  Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the Snap, however based on the label pic above, we do believe the Snap will be a handheld-sized satellite radio that will also include some sort of arm-based mount.  FCC filings also show that the device will also include a transmitter, so it’s likely that the device will be able to transmit satellite radio signals through the car’s FM radio.

No word on pricing or availability, but today’s FCC filing suggests that we will be learning more about the XM Snap soon.
