Fring for the Apple iPhone 4 gets 3G wireless video calling goodness

Apple’s Face Time is a decent video calling solution, but it requires a WiFi connection – a big limitation for users on the go. But iPhone 4 users won’t have to wait soon for 3G video calling – Apple recently approved an updated version of the popular Fring client that supports live video chats over 3G networks, as well as WiFi.
This is great news for iPhone 4 users, whose video chats have so far been tethered, so to speak, to WiFi networks. Another big plus of Fring is the app supports a variety of mobile device operating systems, allowing iPhone 4 users to video chat with owners of Android and Nokia devices. Yes, you no longer have to shun your friends that picked up an EVO 4G.
The new version of Fring for iOS4 also supports multitasking, so you don’t have to keep the app open in order to receive messages and calls. The app also features Social Stream, a single chronological stream of tweets, Facebook news, chats and calls.
The updated Fring app, version 3.2.0.5, is available in the App Store now.
