iPod Touch prototypes with cameras and ‘Switchboard’ OS show up on eBay

9to5 Mac discovered two iPod Touches on sale on eBay today.  But these are not just any iPod Touches – they are supposed prototype iPod Touches with markings from Apple’s Development Team.

Images of the devices show a camera on the back of the device – something Steve Jobs had previously claimed was not possible with the thin iPod Touch.  Additionally, pictures of the device’s screen show a ‘Switchboard’ interface, which could be an early version of what is now known as multitasking in the iPhone OS 4.0.

If these devices are legit, it marks another huge security breach for Apple.  But on the other hand, these devices could be Chinese knockoffs masquerading as prototypes or even plants by Apple.

Either way, you won’t be able to get your hands on these via eBay.  These devices were listed twice, and both times the auctions were pulled.  We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
