Foxconn’s SZ901P shows-off Linux-based FoxOS operating system

OEM manufacturer Foxconn passed the SZ901P netbook, pictured above, through the FCC today.  We don’t know much about the specs of the SZ901P, other than the device has Bluetooth, WiFi, WWAN and a CCD webcam.  Overall, the device looks unremarkable.

However, Foxconn did decide to install an interesting Linux-based OS called FoxOS on the SZ901P.  The OS has a Mac-like launcher, as well as multimedia, productivity and web browsing applications.  You can also install Windows XP on the SZ901P, of course.

If you do see the SZ901P, it will likely be rebranded.  There’s no indication what role the FoxOS will play in the company’s OEM efforts, but the OS could be easily customized with alternative branding.
