SoftBank unveils stunning Winter lineup
Remember those Sharp camera phones that have passed through the FCC in recent weeks? Well, today Japanese wireless carrier SoftBank unveiled their Winter 2009-Spring 2010 catalog that contains a number of these impressive camera phones (From Engadget).
I love how Japanese carriers introduce a ton of phones at once – it allows customers to pick and choose from a full lineup, rather than having to ‘wait and see’ for the next new device. But it is a bit sad to known that few, if any of these devices will make their way to the US.
More pics of Sensixa’s e-AR fitness monitor emerge
Yesterday a couple of blurry pics of Sensixa’s e-AR fitness monitor popped up on the FCC. Today, more pics of the actual e-AR monitoring device emerged, revealing a slick, compact design.
I have to admit, I’m very impressed at the e-AR, even though I would never need the wealth of fitness data that it records.
Samsung BD-C7500 Blu-Ray Player plays media extender, server roles
Samsung recently received Wi-Fi certification for their BD-C7500 Blu Ray player. Filings for the BD-C7500 describe interesting media extender and media server features.
Currently, Samsung’s Blu-Ray players support Netflix and Pandora streaming, as well as media streaming from a PC. But the description of ‘media server’ features suggest that the BD-C7500 may include an internal hard drive that will allow users to store media on the player itself.
At this point this is purely speculation, but the BD-C7500 is definitely a Blu-Ray player to keep an eye on.
Huawei’s Centro look-alike
Huawei passed their C6100 mobile phone through the FCC today. The C6100 is a CDMA device which bears a striking resemblance to Palm’s Centro smartphone.
However, there is little chance that this device will make it to the States. Huawei will most likely OEM this device to China Telecom.
