Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless N adapter revealed in FCC application

image

Microsoft passed a wireless N adapter through the FCC today.  There isn’t much to see besides this label picture, but at least you Xbox 360 owners out there can look forward to wireless N networking in the near future.

Samsung’s Pleomax Wireless Mouse MOC-250M/D

image

Not much to see here, just a 2.4 GHz wireless mouse.  This comes from Samsung’s Pleomax unit, which has quietly developed a respectable line of computer peripherals.

Unbranded, feature-packed auto DVD head unit hits the FCC

image

Shenzhen Timeway Technology Consulting passed this unit through the FCC today.  It’s under the Soling trademark, and the model number is SL-8401, but this seems like an OEM unit that will probably find a brand in the US.

According to the manual, this is a pretty feature-packed unit.  It does the basics like radio and DVD playback, but it also incorporates a TV tuner, GPS and bluetooth calling…all with touchscreen controls.

Wireless lottery ticket checking goodness from Scientific Games

The title says it all.  According to the manual you’ll see this in Pennsylvania.

Creative Inspire S2 wireless speakers – 2.1 bluetooth goodness

image

With the iPhone now supporting A2DP bluetooth stereo, wireless speakers seem like a pretty good idea.  Just walk into a room, pair up, and you can play DJ from your iPhone.

The Creative Inspire S2 wireless speakers are a basic offering – 7 watts per channel and a 19 watt woofer.  But that’s enough power for most smaller rooms and desktop setups.

Wireless RF Wall Mounted Switch RFK100 for wireless lighting goodness

image

Intertek has a good idea here.  The company RF enables the light switch itself, so no more hard wiring switch-controlled devices throughout your home.

You control devices by plugging them into a receiver that receives RF signals from the wall switch.  It’s a big improvement over having just one socket that’s controlled by the wall switch.  Although it will be a pain to change batteries on this thing.

Intel Clane – “transforms eldercare with advanced sensor technology”

image

Intel passed this device through the FCC today.  According to the manual, it’s called “Clane", and apparently it’s some sort of sensor for the eldercare market.

The manual claims that Clane learns the daily living patters of senior residents, so I bet the device above is attached to the patient, and the patient’s movements are tracked wirelessly.  The manual also mentions a touchscreen where either patients or staff log in.

Not much to go on here, but an interesting device from Intel, of all people.

New Guitar Hero controllers hit the FCC

image

A new Guitar Hero controller hit the FCC today.  Judging from the controls, this one is for the XBOX 360.  Not much new here, but I do like the classic design.

PB Teen brings your daughter a retro cordless phone

image

I haven’t heard of PB Teen before, but apparently this company is a big retailer of kid’s stuff.  Now, they’re even making their own devices, as evidenced by this pink, retro cordless phone that passed through the FCC this morning.

If I was a teenage girl, perhaps I would bit on this cordless phone that has the retro look of one of those old rotary models.  But really, if I’m a teenage girl isn’t using a cordless phone in general retro enough?  It’s 2009, time for a celly, right?

BMW’s Motorrad Bluetooth Motorcycle Helmet

image

I never understood open air motorcycle speakers…I mean, can you really even hear anything when you’re on the freeway in the open air going 80 mph with your speakers blasting?

BMW’s answer is to put bluetooth-powered speakers in the helmet itself for music listening and phone talking while on the road.  Seems like a solid idea to me.
